Bhenji Ra: Everything at Once: Permaculture, Abolition, and Trans Love

In this talk, transdisciplinary artist Bhenji Ra asks if we can mourn and celebrate at the same time. Ra discusses how one can, through embodiment and performance on the stage, in the streets, at the club, and during times of collective protest, practice the politics of anti-capitalism and anti-colonialism.
About the Speaker
Bhenji Ra is a transdisciplinary artist currently based on Gadigal land, Eora Nation. Her practice combines dance, video, illustration, and community activation. Her work dissects cultural theory and identity, centralising her own personal histories as a tool to reframe performance. She is the mother of Western Sydney-based collective and ballroom house SLÉ.
